Veterans Day, observed on November 11th, is a significant national holiday in the United States dedicated to honoring all military veterans who have served in the country's armed forces. Originally established to commemorate the end of World War I, it now pays tribute to veterans from all wars and conflicts, recognizing their bravery, sacrifice, and commitment to safeguarding the nation's freedom. On this day, various ceremonies, parades, and events take place across the country to express gratitude for the contributions of veterans. It's a time to reflect on the selflessness of those who have served and to acknowledge the lasting impact of their service on the nation's history and ideals.

Our mission since starting in 2016 is to support the beauty, health and sustainability of Lyons ecosystems by manually removing toxic and invasive weeds (like knapweed, thistles, mullein, dalmation toadflax, curly dock, myrtle spurge, etc.), reducing the need for chemical treatments, and encouraging native plant growth.

Keeping our focus on the health and well-being of Lyons residents (people and wilder ones) as well. Building community.

Another big benefit is the joy and satisfaction of working together to produce visible results. We learn a lot about plant IDs, best tools and techniques from each other.

Sally King and April Tierney are returning to the library for another intergenerational conversation about the complexity and necessity of both making and sharing art within these times. Sally is a writer and visual artist, well known for her bear sculptures in town; April is a poet and craftswoman who offers seasonal readings and classes. With four decades between them, these innovative women intend to build a bridge between the generations through a stirring and intimate dialogue about art as process, the importance of claiming our existence as creative beings, and etiquette when relating to artists' work. The band originally formed as a duo with Erin Dahlby on mandolin and Nadine on guitar after those two met at a local bluegrass jam in Estes Park, Colorado. Lost Penny includes Joey Purmont on banjo, Derek Ray Kirkman on bass, and Caitlin Anderson on fiddle, making up a fun and energetic 5-piece band that plays off their audience. They are free-range and prone to sing about dogs, Dolly, and Elvis.

The Last Revel is a three-piece folk group from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 2015, Dance To Be Free has been instrumental in facilitating healing among incarcerated individuals. The yearly DANCEFEST event serves as a fundraiser to support the organization's ongoing initiatives and the growth of prison reform programs.

Lucy Wallace, the creator of Dance to Be Free, holds a master's degree in transpersonal psychology from Naropa University, with a focus on addressing trauma that becomes embodied.

From the birth of ski towns like Sun Valley and Aspen; to the icons and innovators—like the original hotdoggers—the film will spin through the years like snow ghosts, bringing humor and inspiration from today including Maine’s finest athlete, Donny Pelletier, to the park scene at Woodward Park City and the next gen of skiers and riders.

Less a documentary than a love letter, it’s a way to honor how, where, and with whom we’ve made ski and snowboard movies since Warren first picked up a camera in 1949.

The 19th Annual Last Waltz Revisited will showcase members of Polytoxic together with 60+ musicians from across Colorado; this show has become an annual tradition, bringing the community together to kick-off the holiday season. The musicians will perform the music of The Band and will celebrate the 47th Anniversary of The Band’s historical performance, The Last Waltz. To celebrate the last 19 years of our performance, we have added a number of special guests, additional details to be announced.

The Last Waltz culminates the official Holiday Canned Food and Desired Hygiene Items Drive that benefits the Denver Rescue Mission. With the support of Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta, YellowDog Printing & Graphics, All Stars Ink, KBCO and The Westword, we are again reaching out and seeking to give back to the community by supporting the Denver Rescue Mission.

We will donate a portion of the show’s proceeds to the Denver Rescue Mission and we will give any fan that brings canned food items to the venue (on the day of the show) a FREE Special Artwork Poster.

We invite you to share this special night with our musical family and participate in our efforts to collect as many cans of food and desired items as possible for The Denver Rescue Mission to assist needy families during this Holiday Season. The Annual "Catch the Glow" Parade will brighten Estes Park at 5:30 PM, the day after Thanksgiving - Friday, November 25, 2022. Each year as many as 20,000 people line Elkhorn Avenue to “Catch the Glow” of this whimsical holiday parade, as well as spend the afternoon visiting Santa and strolling through downtown Estes Park. The parade features more than 40 units, including hand crafted floats from the Town of Estes Park and nonprofits, marching bands, fire trucks and other specialty vehicles.

Downtown Boulder's Lights of December Parade* happens Saturday, December 2, 2023 beginning at 6 pm and is open to community groups, non-profit organizations and local businesses. Floats of all sorts are accepted - creativity and the use of non-vehicular modes of transport are encouraged! The deadline to sign up is Friday, November 10, 2023.**

The parade begins at 15th and Walnut streets. Detailed staging information will be sent out to participants no later than Friday, November 17, 2023.
