Since 2015, Dance To Be Free has been instrumental in facilitating healing among incarcerated individuals. The yearly DANCEFEST event serves as a fundraiser to support the organization’s ongoing initiatives and the growth of prison reform programs.

Lucy Wallace, the creator of Dance to Be Free, holds a master’s degree in transpersonal psychology from Naropa University, with a focus on addressing trauma that becomes embodied.
